Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Ranch Bros wants to change that and make the grass on your side the greenest. Growing an immaculate yard can seem like a daunting task, but with some knowledge and a little hard work, we are positive that your friends will be asking how the grass got so green on your side of the fence.

#1 Watering is Key

That sounds obvious, but it is the most important factor in growing green grass. The trick is to water just the right amount at the right time. A good rule of thumb would be to water an inch and a half per week. A sprinkler system is not required to have a green yard but trust us, it makes it a lot easier.

#2 Spray for Weeds at the Right Time

It is crucial that weeds are sprayed for during the cooler months of the early and late summer. Weed killer is soaked in through the leaves of the weed then distributed to the rest of the plant. Spray too early before the plant is alive and it will greatly reduce the effectiveness of the poison. Spray during the heat of the summer and it will stress your grass causing it to turn yellow.

#3 Never Mow Wet Grass

Wet grass will create piles of grass clippings in your yard. These clippings can block sun and water from reaching the grass that is still alive, resulting in dead patches in your yard.

#4 Read the Back of the Fertilizer Bag

Trust us, moderation is a key when it comes to growing green grass and more is not always better when it comes to fertilization. Nitrogen-heavy fertilizer is great to green up grass, just please remember to read the instructions.

These four tips should help make your lawn the green that you have dreamed of it being. Please give our blog a follow to receive some more landscaping and lawn care tips!
